The Auto Project on Energy and Climate Change (APECC) was established in May 2004, in Beijing, with the goals of promoting improved fuel efficiency for the automotive fleet, raising awareness of clean vehicle policies and technologies, and reducing
greenhouse gas emissions arising from the transportation sector. APECC was hosted by the Global Environmental Institute. In August, 2006, APECC completed registration to become an independent, Chinese, non-governmental organization (NGO) with the name the Innovation Center for Energy and Transportation (iCET). iCET is continuing all of APECC's current projects with the exception of the monthly APECC newsletter, which will continue to be distributed through this website. |
